Dear Gen Xer,
Last week I asked what your favorite TV theme song was.
A hotly contested battle broke out, with two front-runners quickly emerging: The Jeffersons & The Greatest American Hero.
The difference between 1st and 2nd place was one measly vote.
And the winner is…
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who voted!
And CONGRATULATIONS to the winners! May you move on up to the hallowed east side. The rest of you losers can stay here with me.
And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for…
The Gen X Jukebox Question of the Week!
I get the digs on Bono and acknowledge that in his attempts to reach for meanings and understanding he has overreached in cringy ways. Putting that aside, as I suspect Bono is a now a lightening rod for politics, I admire U2’s frequent success at reinventing their music over a long career, while maintaining their dedication to each other and their values as a band. I like everything they did up to the Pop album, which came out maybe 25 years ago.
U2, because Bono seems like the worst person I'd ever want to have a party. I love Depeche Mode!
