I hate that Katrina and the Waves song, and the Tears For Fears song is meh. I LOVE Judas Priest but that song never quite rang my bell. So, deep breath, “Johnny used to work on docks” it is! Not even a fan of Bon Jovi, but that’s a classic!
Glad you’re enjoying these, Sheila! I’m surprised you didn’t go with Judas Priest, but I know that song’s not for everyone. Just make sure you hold on to what you got, and keep in mind that it doesn’t make a difference if you make it or not.
I’m from NJ and attended the same HS as Jon Bon Jovi (years after he was already famous) so I’m legally, morally, ethically, and spiritually bound to choose Livin’ On A Prayer.
It’s not really a bad song, and it captures a sort of working class angst that is more relatable to me than Bruce Springsteen. I enjoy Bon Jovi’s music and owned a few of their cassette tapes back in the day
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. I’m kidding, of course. As a matter of fact, my first ‘real’ girlfriend was obsessed with Bon Jovi. I must’ve heard Slippery When Wet about a million times. I even learned Wanted Dead or Alive on guitar to impress her! Dorky times, but I wouldn’t trade ‘em.
Sonny, these are so fun, thank you!

I have REASONS.😁 laughed out loud at your reminder.
