I don't really listen to BR but a buddy recommended it and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was, much like the Danzig Songs Elvis record (another one you should check out!)
Thanks for this. But as a tail end boomer—I was born in ‘60–I don’t see how the Ramones or their music is Gen X. They were all born between ‘48 and ‘51 and the band formed in 1974 and basically ended in 1978. The oldest GenXers (1965) were then only 9 and 13 at those years. 😎
I actually heard this for the first time earlier tonight when it came on after the Bad Religion Christmas record (which is surprisingly good.)
Bad Religion have a Christmas record? Definitely need to hunt that down!

I don’t either, tbh. Nor am I fan of Xmas music. But the combination is just too intriguing to ignore. Ditto the Danzig. Thanks for the tips!
Great article, great video, and I totally agree that they are “godlike”!
Man, its hard to only hear a single song from the Ramones but I’ll take care of that, shortly.
Thanks for the kind words! And I couldn't agree more. Totally binged on the Ramones while writing the piece.
Merry Christmas. Thanks for the great writing and quite a few laughs. A great combination.
Thank you so much, Daniel! Merry Christmas to you as well!
🤘

Claim them all you want, but to suggest The Ramones 'basically ended in 1978' is absurd.
I can see that. I know the band disbanded in ‘96 but Tommy Ramone
….left in ‘78 but I’ll give you End of the Century in 1980 as the last great album.
