Quite often the real story behind the music is mundane and boring. Better off just imagining and not digging too deeply. I always look forward to your posts. You don’t disappoint.

Thank you so much, Daniel. I always look forward to your comments, so I guess we’re even. 😊

I think you’re right about not digging too deeply. Some songs mean so much to us, that their reality usually fails to match our romantic feelings for them. I’ve found that the same applies when you meet people you look up to. Oftentimes, they disappoint.

Thanks for another brilliant post Sonny. So great revisiting these amazing songs. I meant to comment on the previous post you wrote. We too, have friends that live resolutely in the past. I understand nostalgia as I feel it too, but I agree with you that it is important to embrace the present. We humans spend a lot of our time in self-imposed misery, failing to acknowledge what is around us. I was employed at a hospital for three decades. What I learned, was that there are many people, who through bad luck/arbitrary fate die young and never get a chance to grow old. In the last couple years, I have lost friends and community members, in their early sixties, who died suddenly. That made me realize how precarious life is. I am turning 59 this year. I am determined to enjoy myself before my health inevitably fails. I enjoy revisiting my favourite music and movies of the past but I keep myself attuned to contemporary life. It sounds like you have that balance. Good for you. I am sad for the person who wrote to you. I know people are struggling. Though I cannot imagine why he unsubscribed as your posts bring lots of joy. Keep up the great work! xx

Thank you, Nadine!

I couldn’t agree more about arbitrary twists of fate. It’s frightening, really, how much of our lives depend on little more than luck. The older I get, the more I realize that every year is a privilege.

I’m thrilled to hear that you’re determined to enjoy yourself. Seizing the day and not going gently into that good night are surefire ways to continue feeling young.

Thank you so much for your kind comments, Nadine. They brought me lots of joy as well.
