Ooh, a good one! I first heard "Funkytown" on a K-Tel double-album vinyl record a looooong time ago (it also had "Brass in Pocket" and "Echo Beach", a classic by Canadians Martha and the Muffins!).
B-52s' "Planet Claire" was an early club song for me, c. 1985 ("Dance This Mess Around" remains my favourite song off that album), and I recall getting very hammered on vodka shots...somehow being associated with that?? Sounds nothing like me...
"Paradise City", sure...if you like a good rockin' sing-a-long. Least favourite is "Under the Bridge" - I overplayed this album for YEARS and now don't want to ever hear any of those songs again.
Pick: Planet Claire! I have been known to yell, "BUT SHE ISN'T!" randomly. And I don't even drink anymore.
I have no love for anything funk (I ripped a funk track off the turntable at my husband’s 40th and pronounced “no funk in my house”), but used to sing “clunky town” to the tune of “Funky Town” to my kids when they were clunky little toddlers learning to build brick towers etc. Because there is a place for re-wording every random song to soundtrack mundane daily events: it’s one of the high pleasures of my life.
B-52s! 😁❤️🇨🇦
Gotta go where all the trees are red.
And no headaches because no one has a head.
No brainer.

Awesome as always, Sonny! Thank you!
Chili Peppers! Under the Bridge!
