I’m going with the 80s. As I told you before it was my dot.com era. When it had segued into the 90s with all those self important grunge pricks, I knew things were changing and it was time to look for an exit.
I thought you were going to go with the 80’s. From what you’ve mentioned in the past, it appears as though it was the soundtrack to a very important time in your life. Plus, there’s no shortage of great tunes to choose from.
Yeah, the 80s for me started with the AC/DC Back In Black Tour and ended with G&R Appetite Tour. Things were changing by the 90s. That started with the Judas Priest “devil music” trial in Reno. After that was the Tushino Airfield show in Russia with AC/DC. That was musically and geopolitically absolutely a pinnacle. Where to go after that.
Back in Black and Appetite for Destructon were two of my favorite albums growing up. And that Tushino Airfield show is legendary. Kudos to you for getting in and out and having fun while the getting was good. 🤘
It would have to be the 70s. Such a range. Black Sabbath, Nick Drake, Manassas, Miles Davis On The Corner, Kraftwerk, Marvin Gaye, Disco, Carpenters, Steely Dan, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Van Halen, Bob Marley, Joy Division, Sylvester, Prince, and the Sugar Hill Gang. I am leaving out somebody else's favorite band, or including something others can't stand. Oh well, it's off the top of my head.
I came very close to the 60s for the simple fact that it was a day of old school rock ‘n’ roll mixed with the development of hard rock ‘n, Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Hendrix.
But I ended up with the 70s because those bands I mentioned as well as Black Sabbath and iron maiden who might’ve come in at the tail end of the 60s, but actually started to dominate rock ‘n’ roll in the 70s..
Thank you, Foosball, I'll do my best. I know what you mean about some of the other newsletters. This one, however, is a place for fun and music, so that kind of behavior won't be tolerated here.
The 70s is it for me - I love the growth of metal and punk in this era. My heart says, "80s!" because that's when I was a teen (and all those emotions melded with the music) but I gotta go 70s. So much good music then!
At least your question isn’t a forced pain in the ass.
No one's forcing you or your ass to do anything.
Macarena. I was a DJ at a radio station in 1996 and that song will forever haunt my nightmares.
Ah, good ol' 1996. Playing Macarena back-to-back with ‘One of Us’ by Joan Osborne would’ve made me for sprint for the nearest window.
I hated that song. HATED. It was so draggy and awful!
Will you delete memories of the other decades or can I keep them in my memory safe from your evil grip?
What did the sheriff tell you about messing with the bull, Katie?
If I wasn’t so disaffected I’d raise an army to run you through and truss you up like a sirloin
That’s classic ,😎😎😎😎
90’s. Not even close.
The 90's are definitely a strong contender. They're currently tied with the 70's at the moment. Looks like it's going to be a nail biter.
Think I'm going with the 70s. That decade was a convergence of a lot of things musically
So many genres to choose from. So many great and influential bands. Can’t say I blame you, AJ.

There are so many great artists from the 70s to enjoy. Pretty much something for everyone.

All of those artists you mentioned are awesome. I don’t blame you for voting the way you did. 🤘
Ty brother.Your Substack is one of the few that people do not scream
In CAPS, and digresses into anger and berating.
Keep up the great work.

I know, right? The 70s offer such a cornucopia of goodies. It’s a hard choice to argue, even if it did spawn disco.
I have no beef with disco, it’s still with us. It’s a great dance music.💕
